Pros
Patientco is the most awesome group of people I’ve ever worked with. Everyone is a great blend of brilliant and friendly. While I wasn't able to stay, I miss everyone and look back fondly on my time at Patientco. The company is small, everyone knows everyone else. The call center sits outside the CEO’s office door. The management actively solicits feedback and suggestions from the entire company – and acts on it. The managers are very open with everyone about the status of the company, including regular financial briefings. There is a palpable passion for patients and the quality of the service – every patient and every transaction counts. Patientco takes cybersecurity and HIPAA compliance very seriously. Everyone, whether you work with patient data or not, gets regular security and compliance training. Every computer is encrypted. Every developer is security minded. There are many innovative and exceptional security practices in place that far exceed industry norms. Patients and medical providers can trust Patientco. Compensation is strong. No games with benefits (better than Blue Cross medical, included disability and 401(k) with immediate vesting). The untracked vacation is for real, though people work really hard and deserve it. I never had to request it or wait for approval. Some co-workers took some pretty amazing trips. Obviously, you need to get your work done and coordinate coverage with the rest of your team. If you are thinking about working for (or hiring) Patientco, do-it!
Cons
Employment agreements contain a non-disparagement clause. Fortunately, I don't have anything negative to say about Patientco. The worst thing is probably the traffic at the location - it can take half an hour to go two blocks. Patientco does offer free MARTA passes and pretty flexible hours to help deal with it, though... and it's a pretty cool office to hang around while you wait for traffic to clear out. …
