Pros

Pay is decent and company's prospects are positive

Cons

The most recent re-org at PayPal has been a nightmare. David Marcus said that he was going to simplify things to "GSD" but it turns out that he isn't able to stop the infighting on his executive team so that all the teams under them are confused. You have one senior VP saying that POS is the most important thing to the business and the other senior VP saying that he's going to get it cancelled and therefore, no one knows what to do or how to execute. My entire team is hardly working because we don't actually know what to do!

Pros

Good work life balance Nice facilities Some very smart people (but a lot of mediocre ppl as well)

Cons

It seems like there is a reorg always going on... Not an engineering company, neither a product company, its a business company... Engineers should not come here to enhance their skills... Too many mid level dev managers and project managers who dont understand anything at all and are not involved in anything, I am unsure what their job is...

Pros

Innovation. The company encourages it and if you have an idea, you can work it. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something great and make a difference at an individual level. The work-life balance is great. There are wonderful, smart and driven people to collaborate with. It brings out the best in me as I'm surrounded by top talent.

Cons

The company is at an inflection point. It's experiencing tremendous growth, but knows its competitors, who are small and nimble, are gaining ground. It knows it needs to change, but it's not quite sure how to change its own culture. We have a goal, but the roadmap on how to achieve the goal is unclear. Roles and responsibilities are unclear. Multiple teams solving the same problem in different ways without communicating. It's not crazy here, just feels like the first 30 seconds of Iron Chef. We're going to produce something amazing, if we can just find the salt.
