Pros

Fair pay, generous benefits, generous time off package. I've seen a lot of upward mobility in the short time I've been here. The company definitely takes the time to hire the RIGHT people for the jobs they are filling, not just any warm body off the streets. They also invest in their employees with lots of food days, snack cart, and jeans days.

Cons

Training was very high level and vague. Additional training is very learn-as-you-go, fly-by-the-seat-of-your pants. Cross-company communication isn't consistent when it comes to major changes like Healthcare Reform.

Pros

Work-Life Balance is nice. Managers value your right to have time for your personal life. Unless you seek such jobs, work ends at 5/6pm and you don't need to worry about work until the next morning. No work to do from home or anything like that. Opportunities are abundant. With the size of the organization, there are opportunities to go where you desire. Even if you take a job you aren't thrilled with to get in with the company, most jobs ask for a 12-18 month commitment and then you can post for promotions and other opportunities. During your commitment, you are encouraged to explore and get familiar with other roles in the organization and are encouraged to also work on your own personal development. Steady employment. Despite economic troubles in our country the past many years, Paychex has still grown.

Cons

Pay is at market for entry level positions. Earning above market does not come until you have performed well or received promotions into other roles.
