Pros

Excellent training, income potential, and potential for advancement. The culture at Paychex is very healthy and if you have the drive, you can succeed. The product line is very strong and works as advirtised. Potential for high income on both sales and management side if production is there.

Cons

Too much turnover on sales rep position can make the Sales Manager job difficult. Finding "right person" for the job not as easy as it seems. Sales Manager job varies greatly based on individual sales reps--- get a group group and teach them correctly and it's the best job in the world... the wrong group or good people with bad training and its no fun at all...

Pros

Good benefits; work/life balance is not good in payroll.

Cons

Base compensation is ok, but mileage and expense reimbursements are poor, which is an issue when you drive 300+ miles per week for the company. While you can "settle" that on your personal tax return, you spend a lot of personal money throughout the year that you can only get back or write off once per year on your taxes.

Pros

If you are motivated enough, there are opportunities for growth within the company. This company has an excellent training program, and they continually keep employees apprised of any changes.

Cons

low pay compared to other payroll service providers. I would not be able to afford to live on my own if I had to depend on my salary alone. Other payroll providers pay their employees substantially higher salaries in similar positions. However, they do provide a decent benefits program, including stock options.
