Pros

Coworkers, the people, the type of work.

Cons

It's draining, no one knows what they are doing. There is zero transparency.

Pros

I changed careers in my late 30s after working in television and being on air for nearly 15 years. In that time, I met my wife and started a family and the work/life balance scale always tipped toward work. I always felt like I was on call. My mental health suffered, I wasn't eligible for a promotion in my role, my pay didn't always keep up with cost-of-living, and etc. At Paycom, I celebrate the normal-ness of my schedule. A set time Monday through Friday. Work stays at work and I don't feel guilty taking time away. I'm awarded the opportunity to learn and grow in my role and have learned the value of honest feedback, not to point out my wrongs, but to help me improve. My merit is based on my performance and I'm always encouraged to try new things. This has been the best work environment I've ever experienced.

Cons

It's a payroll company, so there's a lot of acronyms and jargon to learn and the atmosphere can feel daunting at first. Once you've been through on-boarding and begin to settle into your role, it doesn't seem as scary.

Pros

There is opportunity everywhere you look. The culture on L&D is like none other, and I can’t imagine moving to another department. Coming to work is something I look forward to, for the first time in my life.

Cons

None that I can think of. Catered lunches and they gym on-site are a complete win.
