Cons

-Another review citing how poor the work/life balance is at Paycor? That's because it's the truth. This company offers absolutely ZERO work/life balance. You are expected to work from 730a-530p every single day, and be available after hours as well. Management HIGHLY encourages you to work well outside of these hours if you want to hit your numbers. Most sales people work well into late hours of the night to try and stay afloat. Burnout is very real and prevalent here. Taking time off is difficult, as they tell you in the interview process that they have a generous PTO policy, but you will be hounded, guilt-tripped and given the severe 3rd degree by your manager (RSD) if you ever want to take time off - even if you consistently hit your number. The level of micro management that exists here is OFF THE CHARTS. Whether you are hitting your sales goals or not, you manager will be breathing down your neck at all hours of every single day. Scare tactics are frequently used here, and that's coming all the way from the top down - boiler room status. Even if you are doing well, you will often be publicly shamed and compared to other reps who are tenured and doing well (because they have been there for 5+ years) often, so prepare to thicken your skin. Also, regardless of what you are told in your interview process, you will be expected to heavily cold-call every single day in this role. ~A HUGE STEP BACK IN YOUR CAREER~ If you are fresh out of college, or coming off of your very first sales job (BDR/SDR) and looking to break in to the SaaS world, this is a GREAT stepping stone company for you to add to your resume. If you are already established and have been in sales for 3+ years, this will absolutely without a shadow of a doubt be SEVERAL steps back in your career. During your interview process, they will make a TON empty promises, especially if you are already successful in your current position -- please know that this is only because they want to 'close the deal' on you. Be cautious of this, and do not be fooled by titles or base pay. You will also be restricted by who you can and cannot call. You will not be allowed to call accounts over 300, 400 or 500 employees (dependent on what region of the country/territory you are in - some are 300, some are 400). So in other words, you will be a small business sales rep. Those 'larger' accounts (companies) are reserved for more tenured reps who have been there for a long while, and you won't be qualified for that type of "promotion" until year 3 at the EARLIEST -Major Market Sales Executive at Paycor is the equivalent to an Account Representative position anywhere else. Regional Sales Director at Paycor is the equivalent to a 1st-level Sales Manager position anywhere else. PLEASE know these parallels before you apply, if there's nothing else you take away from this review. -The turnover is atrocious, and this company is often referred to as a revolving door. Don't believe me? They offer you a 5-figure bonus if you stay at the company for more than 9 months. How can you NOT take that as an obvious bad sign? They have an 8-week training program, but you will not learn much, especially if you are coming from outside the payroll industry, as you will feel completely lost. -Looking for a fun culture? Lol, keep looking. -Additionally, the product is no different than any other payroll software out there. If you ask your peers or RSD what differentiates us from competition, they will be scratching their heads trying to come up with a viable answer. There is absolutely nothing that separates us from the rest in a positive manner. Now, if you are looking for clawed-back commissions due to 'no-starts' because our service model is so atrocious our customers cancel before they even fully implement, then look no further.
