Pros

The person you work with, side by side, day by day is going to be great. You will feel like a team and it’s you against the rest of Paylocity. It’s like having that special connection with you prison cell mate. They give out free food in the office, snacks are good and the swag drops are constant.

Cons

Look at all the changes in their senior leadership in the last 15 months. Two CEOs, how does that even work? One is creative and a nice person that wants Paylocity to deliver amazing products. The other cares what the shareholders say and how big his bank account gets. Read the writing on the wall, Paylocity is scaling up to be a large HCM company that lacks culture or care for their employees. They keep brining in leaders from Paychex and ADP that only care about the bottom line and increasing profits. If you think the culture is going to stay the same as all of these changes are happening, you’re delusional. If you think they won’t do layoffs or stop hiring and expect you to work more if the economy takes a turn, you’re delusional. They did that already to us during COVID. But if you’re used to these large companies where you’re just a cog in a wheel that will crush you at any moment, then this might be the place for you.

Paylocity Response

We appreciate your feedback! At the start of the pandemic, our Executive Team was transparent in sharing that we would avoid layoffs and make decisions to protect our employees to the best of our ability. Through this day, they have continued to put employees first and share state of the business updates bi-weekly, during the live Q&A sessions. We strongly encourage employees to attend these sessions or view the recording which is shared afterward. We are proud to be a rapidly growing company. Culture and the employee experience continues to be top of mind as we work to support each other in an evolving environment. We appreciate your time at Paylocity!

Turning into ADP 2.0

Pros

Progressive company, great earning potential on the commission side. Didn't lay off workforce during COVID.

Cons

Everything I loved when I started with Paylocity years ago seems to have disappeared. Benefits are just ok. Base salary is not at all competitive in the market. Service and implementation have really gone downhill with the accelerated growth. Culture was incredible when I started, but it took a huge turn about a year ago. But when Haske announced he was leaving and they started bringing in leadership primarily from ADP rather than promoting from within, I read the writing on the wall. I, like many former ADP employees who came to Paylocity, did NOT want to work for ADP again.

Pros

Remote work that never stops!

Cons

When something is broken, and it is not ignored, we are told how its "being fixed" .... the fix will be a 2-5 year plan away but that only becomes clear when you continue to follow up on the issue. If you are totally unaware of how a business should be run, you will do well here. You will probably get promoted actually, maybe even some day you will run the place. Do you find Public Shaming to be a motivational tool? Emails are not read here. Just pick up the phone, I honestly don't think anyone can read. Don't have the bandwidth to perform your primary responsibilities? Don't worry, you'll get some special projects. And your manager will be sure to schedule some time on your calendar for a virtual party. And if you are really lucky, you'll get to work on Saturdays too! And since we believe titles are meaningless and everyone has a voice, let me coach you on how you should talk to people on elevators and what you can and can't say to a superior. I keep trying to post all the messed up things people say but it gets rejected so let me just sum it up with this: This company needs an education on the isms. and if isms bother you, I recommend you find a position elsewhere. If you find caring about isms (humanity) annoying, I recommend you apply, you'll be amongst friends.
