Pros

Co-workers are great, friendly and casual environment. For the most part the company allows it's employees to focus on doing their job without micro-managing. Benefits and pay are good. Flexible remote atmosphere for many of the positions. Software is industry leading - it's nice to work for the best.

Cons

Concerns over change in atmosphere no that they are public.

Pros

Fast growing company with a great culture. We work hard but management understands that since they started in our position so they have created an atmosphere that promotes team-work and fun. We have the ability to walk away from our desks and challenge co-workers to games such as ping pong, bags, or games on the PS4. Recruiters and managers explain NSS is an entry level position which allows us an opportunity to begin our career that may open other doors at Paylocity after a year. Several of us have transitioned to other departments while several others are job shadowing in other departments to determine their next move. Daily, weekly, monthly contests give everyone the ability to earn extra money while games, golf event, watching movies and sporting events, ½ days off add to the culture.

Cons

The first month or 2 is difficult and can be very frustrating. You are mostly reliant on the base salary but once you get through that the job becomes easier and the commissions and bonuses start to kick-in.

Pros

Good Benefits and "Laid Back" Culture

Cons

Where do I start? 1. Recruitment lied from day 1, promising growth and job opportunities within 12-18 months. Turns out you only qualify for an INTERVIEW and sucks to be you if your too good in your department because they will keep you there and not promote you. 2. They dangle "rewards" in your face and either take them away or punish you for actually accepting it. (ex: leaving early: if quota was met, you make it, you leave, you get to hear about how everyone who made it and still stayed are SUCH great employees) 3. Work/Life Balance SUCKS- mentally and psychically stresses you out about constantly having to make quota. 4. Changes their policies- was hired and began working 8-4:30- they decided to then change it to 5, which does not seem like that big of a deal but when under the impression of working until 4:30 it makes a big difference in the commute/traffic. OVERALL- If you are a college graduate do not even bother applying here, you ARE a telemarketer and the turnover rate is extremely high (at least 6 people have left in NSS within 3 months so far). You can find a much better job with higher pay, straightforward demands, REAL opportunity for growth and experience within your field. Trust me.

Paylocity Response
11y
Paylocity truly values our employees and their feedback, and work tirelessly to improve our employee experiences. It is disappointing to see such a negative response. National Sales Support is an entry level position that allows people an opportunity to get into a great, growing organization. Anytime after 12 months a number of career paths open up, but these positions are never guaranteed to a National Sales Support Representative or any other Paylocity employee. The NSS representative may have to compete for other internal positions with other existing Paylocity employees or even outside candidates. Paylocity’s preference is to promote from within but at times that isn’t possible. In regards to the hours policy, Paylocity acquired Elite now known as National Sales Support in October 2013, and at that time their hours policy was 8am-4:30pm and located in Northbrook, IL. When we moved the NSS employees to our Arlington Heights corporate office in May 2014 we had to adjust the hours to 8am-5:00pm in order to comply with the rest of the Paylocity staff. We have recently been awarded Glassdoor’s 2014 Employee Choice – Best Places to Work award, have been among business leaders as one of the best places to work in Illinois for the past 5 years – that said, it isn't a fit for every person. The work we do is important and can be challenging at times and this environment isn't for all. This is fully explained in the interview process and as part of that process we have every NSS candidate sit behind an existing National Sales Support Representative for a minimum of 30 minutes so the candidate has an opportunity to see exactly what they are potentially getting themselves into so there are no surprises and allow each candidate to hopefully make the best decision for themselves. We wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors, and will continue to strive to make Paylocity one of the Best Places to Work.
