Bad managers/leadership hurt the company

Pros

- casual dress code - work from home days - really great peers to work and collaborate with from all over the country (remote-friendly) - flexibility - the CEO

Cons

I loved my actual job. It was great for a stretch, Paylocity was my family and despite its faults, you felt like together we were trying to improve. Then the bad days started. It was rarely job specific tasks that made my days go bad. It was management's bad behavior which came from the immediate manager and from executives higher up the org chart. The negative effects of bad management are profound. Let's face it, it makes people unhappy. The best leaders are excellent at understanding and relating to many different kinds of people, unfortunately in the past few years Paylocity has acquired and/or promoted some that relate only to people like themselves. I found myself working for some bad managers with no desire or skill to improve their ways, so the best (or even the only solution) for me was to quit and go work somewhere else.
