Pros

Is a mining company through and through. I learnt a lot about fiscal management and accountability.

Cons

Peabody is a tough company to work for and have high expectations for their teams that can be difficult to meet. There is a high turn over of their Supervisors, Superintendents and Managers. Tier 2 mining company in Australia and as a result can struggle to attract talent.

Pros

Decent pay. Good roster and accommodation. Fellow workers are a good bunch of people. Other than that I can't recommend them.

Cons

Nepotism is rife in this organisation. It's not what you know it's who you know here. Management surround themselves with friends and family looking out for each other's interests. HR look after the boys clubs because they benefit from them as well.

Pros

The people at the mine were very smart, kind, and fun to be around. The job set me up with good experience for future jobs. Challenging.

Cons

Sometimes too challenging. Everything felt extremely rushed, we didn't have the time or personnel to optimize operations. Also, I think the corporate personnel are very out of touch with the operations. They made some changes that hurt morale and didn't improve the company at all.
