Constant restructuring

Pros

Stressful nature of the work and recurring system/process issues promotes a sort of comrodary among coworkers - in the trenches together.

Cons

This company has major layoffs and restructuring/ redistribution of the work every few years. Those of us who remain employed are forced to pick up the slack and ultimately end up with the workload of multiple employees. Of course, there is no increase in compensation. I don't recommend working for this company. The systems and processes are outdated and dysfunctional, resulting in widespread issues and added stress to customers and employees.

Pros

Lots of free time, could come & go without notice

Cons

Reported a harassment issue to HR and they retaliated by putting me in a small room with my harasser, his manager, and my manager. Completely against their sexual harassment policy. When I asked “why” they said it was to make sure we could still work together… so I had to quit.

Downward Spiral

Pros

Most of the people I worked with were wonderful, smart colleagues.

Cons

Low pay. Constant layoffs, restructuring of the business, and loss of talent. Silos. Political and backstabbing the further you get to the top of the food chain. Lack of career progression and advancement opportunities even when you deliver and exceed expectations. Toxic culture. Trying to be a tech company forever which has been in vain. Churn and burn culture where leadership will look to cash out as soon as they can.
