Pros

I previously left Peek to move up to Seattle due to cost of living in the Bay Area in 2016. My experience at Peek has been fantastic, but I ended up joining Amazon AWS in Seattle. To keep a long story short, my experience at AWS was not what I hoped for and my career path was moving toward a trajectory I did not want. When I heard that Peek was opening remote offices in New York and Seattle, it was really exciting news. After wrapping up my remaining projects in AWS RDS in 2019, I decided it was time to come back to Peek. Coming back has been amazing, the company has grown a lot. The total number of employees more than tripled since I started with them in 2014. I've watched the company closely during my 3 years at AWS and it was great to see them secure Series B funding, acquiring a competitor, and partnering with Google. Working here you have lots of ownership over your projects, and the management team encourages researching new technologies and services to make the infrastructure more resilient. I am very happy with my decision to come back.

Cons

It's not really a con for me since I enjoy learning about new technologies and tools. But Peek is a fast pace company in which they are not afraid to take chances on using new tools and languages to build out their systems. So be ready to challenge yourself and innovate!

Great Product, Culture, & People w/ Room to Grow

Pros

The product is solid for this industry. No Software is without his fault and bugs, but the engineer team is hard at work improving the product. The product really can sell itself and brind in customers. The future is really bright for Peek. The company also provides snacks (though the quantity shrinks week to week) and also caters lunch every Thursday (which is amazing). Growing company with the opportunity for personal growth if you make your wants and needs known to your manager. Felt welcome and comfortable and made friends immediately. Management is good and seems to really want you to grow and succeed.

Cons

"We're a start-up" seems to be a common excuse for big and little problems alike; just own who you are and focus on improving. Positions in the company seem to be paid below the industry standard for the state of Utah. Not terrible pay, but definitely not the most you can get out there. A con that is a pro is they seem to be growing faster than they can hire which can lead to burn-out. To that - work hard, play hard is a motto commonly used but lately, it seems more work hard and not a lot of time to play or have a slower day. No true break room to just escape is also a downside in my opinion. Overall a really great company with a product that will go in an industry that is taking off. This company, in my opinion, will continue to grow and be successful. There are just some growing pains and some realities that they need to face.

Everyone here is like family and we all get along very well. The culture at Peek is my favorite part about work. I also love how fast you can move up in the company.

Cons

So far everything at Peek has been super awesome.
