Pros

I was impressed with this company from the moment I walked through the doors. I've worked a variety of jobs, some good some bad. But Peek really surprised me with the culture they have cultivated here. Everyone was smiling, chatting with coworkers, working together on difficult projects, or just buckling down doing their jobs. Regardless of the task, everyone is legitimately happy. I believe this is due to how much the company cares about its employees. There are excellent bonus structures in place to incentivize hard working employees, weekly catered lunches where the whole company (including the CEO) come together to do an activity or watch a TedTalk about relevant social issues, snacks and coffee are always available, flexibility in working hours if you're sick or have an emergency, work from home options if you're sick but don't want to take a sick day, excellent benefits, etc. I can tell Peek really tried to cultivate an environment for its employees so they can be happy and, as a result, work hard towards the success of the company. I was also very impressed by how committed to maintaining this culture they are. If there is an employee who has a bad attitude or tries to skate by and not pull their weight, the management is open to feedback and will do whatever they need to in order to address the problem. The management is also really great, they're not offended by constructive criticism and are legitimately dedicated to making sure they're doing everything they can to improve. I've heard multiple employees express their satisfaction in the work place and with their managers. If there ever is a problem, I'm confident Peek would do their best to fix it.

Cons

Sometimes the refrigerator runs out of Coca-cola which is sad because Diet tastes like swamp water.

Pros

Customers are generally very patient and nice to you! Teammates are wonderful, convenient location, ability to work from home after 6 months. They give you all the tech gear needed to do the job.

Cons

Huge issue with nepotism. HUGE. Lots of family working here, and unless you know someone there already it’s very unlikely you’ll meet the “culture” they’re going for. Training is very short and does not prepare you for the job. They offer support of the floor/teammates but even they have incorrect information which can damage your overall performance. (Are co-workers expected to train?) Many times I have asked for help to be ignored and/or given the wrong info with no platform given to double check the information given.

Pros

There are some genuinely good teammates that work at Peek. They are team players and seem truly willing to help you succeed. The health benefits are decent for a smaller company also.

Cons

The interview process is extensive to make sure you are a "good culture fit". Once you are hired, if you don't fit in with a certain group of employees, you have a high likelihood of quickly being terminated. Also you will be encouraged to provide feedback on training, the product, and team communication because they "want to constantly improve" but if you bring up areas of improvement towards team dynamics or communication issues, you will likely be terminated. I honestly have never felt so disrespected by a company (including companies I've interviewed with but didn't get hired) and I've never felt like an employer could care less about me. There is no HR at Peek currently so there is no check in place, which means the friends of leaders that work there are supported and they play favorites. When disagreements are brought up or communications issues, don't expect them to discuss it with you towards fixing it or coach anyone to improve the situation. They just eliminate the problem. They also don't encourage a great work/life balance since they just moved everyone to salary. Even those in new hire training feel they have to work on their laptops from home every night to show they are trying to learn quickly. Expect to work 50-60 hours a week for salary. Within a few days of being hired, I was asked while being stood over to write a Glassdoor review to "keep attracting the best talent" and now I see why they asked so quickly. Every week there were messages sent about "So and so is no longer at Peek" so it seems they have a high turn over rate. When they decide to terminate someone, there is no discussion and they do not provide any reasons. You are told you'll be sent an email covering the reasons you were terminated as well as unemployment/health insurance details, but you will never even get the courtesy of that follow through. If you just try to have an open conversation about what's going on you will be told "there's nothing to talk about". If you are an employee that likes to nod their head and not speak while working 60 hours on salary and being totally unappreciated, this is the perfect place for you!
