Pros

I've been at Peek for a few years, and my experience here has been great. It's been a lot of hard work, with some bumps in the road, but I didn't expect anything less when deciding to join a rapidly growing early stage startup. The biggest pro to me is the culture. Everyone here takes ownership of their work and pushes hard to do a great job, while also being friendly and genuinely kind and supportive. We all want win, both together and with/for our customers. Peek is great for anyone interested in 1. Taking on more responsibility than they would get at most other places 2. Learning a tremendous amount from great leaders 3. Seeing their work have a real impact on the company's trajectory

Cons

Peek is not a great place for people who want to clock in and clock out, and not really be engaged in their work. (Nothing wrong with people who want that, just that this isn't a great place for this.)

Research before you start a sales career

Pros

- They really hire some cool gals and lads here. Everyone from engineering to sales were extremely nice and outgoing. Also seems like the "travel" type (makes sense right?) - Perks: Personal chef, outings, weekly seminars with other startups

Cons

This is specifically for the client facing / sales roles: - At the end of the day, Ms. Bashir manages behind the scene all hiring/firings, territory assignments, sales compensation models. A bit like the puppeteer behind the sales managers. It seems to be based on data or personal preference. As you can imagine, as she is not involved with the day-to-day operations of the sales team, this could create issues... - This is more of a general career advice: This is a SMB sales role. Mainly selling to small travel businesses. It's a niche market with very little enterprise players. In the long term, you would be pigeon-holed to SMB sales. There are plenty of SaaS companies in the bay area that offer you an enterprise sales track. It would be better for you in the long run . Yes, I saw the company added some mid-market roles. This is not even in the ball park of other verticals (retail, security, manufacturing, etc...). Hey, if you don't believe me, research yourself the average tenure of a Peek salesperson.

Pros

-Awesome peeknics. We have some baller guests visit the office and share their life story and advice. -Celeb founder. Makes people think that peek is doing a lot better than it is. -Lots of time to surf the internet -Good pay in San Francisco. -Overpriced team outings

Cons

-Management isn't honest with us. We have fewer people than we did 2 years ago but they keep telling us things are going great! And we just hired a "mid market" sales team but nobody knows what they do all day! I bet they were just hired to help us raise money. -An abusive CEO. Personally, I pass off her anger as a symptom of our business failing. -Split offices. It's like we have the dream team in San Francisco and the Z team in Utah. Everybody knows our Utah office is a joke. Otherwise we'd bring them to SF. -Every night I have to worry about having a job tomorrow. I just wonder when the charade is going to end and I'll show up to an empty office because we had to close our doors.
