Pros

Flexibility for work/life emergencies (though less for day to day balance)

Cons

Consistent trend of internally promoting people to management who didn't have enough skills to perform their initial jobs or contribute to their teams. Instead of putting low performer on PIP or letting them go, they would promote to team lead. No performance evaluations or goal setting. No expectation of growth or career development. Multiple years without even an annual cost of living wage increase. More recent focus on bonus plan that was consistently not achieved.

Great Internal Culture, Parent Company is a Problem

Pros

Loved my coworkers and team, loved the projects. Great customers and interesting projects all around. VERY good travel policy that favored the employee.

Cons

Compensation became a problem as a 'bonus' plan was implemented that simply never paid a bonus. Negotiate up front accordingly and assume no bonus when doing so. SMART needs to fix this problem.

Free coffee and a lot overtime

Cons

Lack of communication, when shipment went wrong, management will look for someone to blame just to cover their mistakes. Unorganized, unprofessional, no legit documentation, hiring their own people who doesn’t even have any knowledge of the position they’ve been given to. No professional training...in short self-learning.
