Pros

People who you work with really feel like family. Everyone helps each other and bands together to make sure things get done. They really care about your personal wellbeing

Cons

Hours expected to work are very long and the low pay means you are barely able to support yourself for the first few years in this career. Some of the older employees in high level management jobs aren't open to change and insist on sticking with old practices that are no longer effective in the changing environment.

Pros

Excellent Benefits, Great Salary, Good Community

Cons

Some divisions are run erratically and have a high amount of turnover and layoffs. Can be slow to develop new technologies and be innovative. The approval process for visuals is complex and arduous which causes all involved to lose confidence. Editors no longer have confidence which creates more work for the support departments.

Pros

You get to work with smart, fun, and caring people that genuinely love what they do. It's also cool to have Summer Fridays (offices close at 12:30pm on Fridays between Memorial Day and Labor Day).

Cons

Promotions are rare. It's also publishing, so the pay isn't that great.
