      Pros

      Good benefits and retirement matching. Work/life balance is good.

      Cons

      Cost of living in State College continues to rise, and salaries do not. There are no direct paths to promotion. Hiring for new positions is highly political, and half the positions are already informally filled by internal candidates when they're listed. Assume that your starting salary will be the salary you get for the next 5 years.

      Pros

      Middle of nowhere. Plenty of Amish food markets. Health insurance is great for college student things like drunk accidents, but it is terrible for pregnancy or any real medical issues.

      Cons

      Abusive Professors are common. Wage theft is common. Safety violations are common and never reported. 55+ hours per week is the minimum. No vacation is expected. Getting pregnant is not acceptable.

      Benefits are fantastic Location Some great employees in the mix

      Cons

      If you have a problem and use the resources they tout, be ready to experience harassment, hostility, and retaliation. They do not hold people accountable, but look to suppress the problem. They are public about showing these consequences, too, so that makes most people scared to do the right thing.
