Pros

They pay tuition for research and teaching assistant. And working hour is flexible. The pay is doubled during summer semester.

Cons

The town has few shops and restaurants. Normally you will need to take a bus to ride to the work place. And during certain time waiting for bus can be a very long time.

Pros

- Equipment. Penn State offers some of the most advanced equipment currently available to the private sector. - Location. State College is a wonderfully safe little town with lots of charm. - Students. Working with students can be a rewarding experience.

Cons

- Pay. It really isn't the best. - Raises. Almost non-existent recently. - Being wage payroll/adjunct. You may as well give up trying to move into a full time position from either of these. - Management. The ones I have encountered are a little out of their element.
