Pros

Got super close not only with the Professor I worked under, but with the students/peers of mine, and other professors in the college of communications. Hours were easy to submit, payment was fair and equal, and the balance was very easy and low-pressure. Such a great experience I recommend for anyone who is able to do it.

Cons

Emailing back and forth with students, because they don't always take the TA serious.

Postdoc at Penn State

Pros

Good health insurance for employee and family. Relatively flexible hours. A lot of career development events and seminars.

Cons

Postdocs do not have separate sick days, do not have 401K match contribution. Parental leave is 6 weeks. Career development option is to be promoted to Researcher position with almost same salary as Postdoc, but with 401k plan.
