Pros

People at the plant level are the heart and soul of this company.

Cons

The enterprize “basket weave” matrix structure fails at every level but senior leadership will not acknowledge reality and make changes. Strategy deployment, once structured is now non-existent. Business unit leadership is weak - hamstrung by an cumbersome and ineffectual delegation of authority processes which requires the CEO to sign off on the most trivial of items. TRUE leadership is non-existent. This is characterized by “bosses” (not leaders) who will not listen to their staff and have bred a culture of silent workers who dare not speak up for fear of repercussions and hence the ever downward spiral of discontent. HR has one of the highest rates of stress, burnout and desertion due to constant restructuring and downsizing. “Talent acquisition” is abandoned in favor of “talent retention” to stop the bleeding. There are more hiring freezes than hiring. Business units and platforms and renamed every 2 years and the titles of the same people juggled constantly - no doubt with salary increases while the real workers see nothing. Heads roll faster than new appointments are made but the same old guard survive - what’s wrong with this picture ?!! Where does the buck stop ? Loyalty is not valued in this corporation.
