Cons

long hours, no work life balance. The IT systems are not upto date. The planning cycle is too laborious and long. There is no career growth without moving to different locations

Pros

Frito Lay has allowed me so many great opportunities. This is a company where you have a real team atmosphere. We are very results oriented therefore we never talk about how well we did last week, but how we will meet our future challenges. Our leadership gives us clear guidance and we model our approach to the market based on that guidance. This enables us to be consistent but also allows for the opportunity to stand out. If you work for Frito Lay, you do not work for the money, but for the opportunities and development. If you can perform at Frito ou can make it anywhere.

Cons

The issue that most will bring up is work life balance. I feel that in my own experience it is hard to achieve at Frito Lay. I have seen positive changes in the last three years and hope to see improvements in the future. I would like to see HQ Leadership shift focus to Work life balance opportunities in the field as much of their efforts in the past have revolved around HQ positions. I also understand that work life balance starts with me, so I also must make a better effort to take the vacation or leave a few hours early.

Pros

Decent Technology platform. Bonus program that starts pretty early in the pay bands.

Cons

Where to start... There are MicroManagers at every level. These managers have little regard for the people that work for them. This is especially evident when they are making decisions about moving people from team to team. Year-end reviews and promotion decisions turn into popularity contests rather than based on what people actually contribute. Management always plays games with salary increases each year - telling you that times are tough and you weren't going to get anything, but I went to bat for you and got you 2%.
