Pros

Company has a great policy for flexible schedule! However, this is ultimately gated by your direct supervisor. Great mission, at least on our contract for Phase I/II cancer clinical trials.

Cons

Poor administrative management and insider self-promotion, at least on our contract. However, the contract was just lost due to this gross irresponsibility, so there's at least that.

Pros

* Fantastic array of leading-edge research projects in a wide variety of technical areas: very strong in cybersecurity, wireless networking, and cyber-physical security * The best colleagues in the business! There is very little in the way of politics, back-stabbing. Almost everyone is helpful and friendly. * Perspecta Labs is the "jewel in the crown" of the Perspecta company and is treated as such with the company. Perspecta is a growing publicly traded company with a bright future. There is much untapped potential in transitioning research from the Labs to the larger company. * Flexible working hours are a major benefit of working at the Labs.

Cons

* Pay is not as high as in other companies or fields for a similarly qualified person. * There is a lot of pressure on senior technical staff to pursue and win business opportunities. Just being strong technically can only get you so far. * Limited room for promotion due to the flat structure and smallish size of the Labs. * Even though hours are flexible they are invariably long for in-demand/strong technical staff and managers. The organization is very project driven and life outside of work can suffer when project deadlines converge.

Pros

- Dynamic, challenging, enticing work that engages in new technologies, interesting problems, innovative solutions - Family-friendly, flexible, supportive work culture that helps balancing work/family responsibilities - Highly intelligent, skilled, trained people with innovative tendencies and globally diverse backgrounds that make collaborative work more interesting and fun - Truly an equal-opportunity work place where women do prosper and good performance is awarded - Genuinely supportive, caring management, groomed from within, who knows R&D and technology, cultivate collaboration and innovation, and support and play an active role in the successes we build as a small research organization

Cons

- Benefits have been reduced over the years - Changes in benefits administrating companies year after year have been somewhat disrupting although upper management has done a great job, where possible, isolating us from the merger and acquisition activities and bureaucracies
