Pros

Dynamic company with good technologies. The chip technology is cutting edge. Instrument and assay technologies are fairly good, but the chips are the company's strength.

Cons

Management definitely has an east coast, old school style. Information flow is largely top down, which is not comfortable for people used to working in Silicon Valley. The acquisition by PerkinElmer only adds to this.

A culture in transition results in mixed messages

Pros

Well run from share holders perspective. Good people, great products noble mission and focus. Physical facilities and environment are excellent. Flexible hours and ability to work from home.

Cons

Lack of transparency and either unwilling or unable to communicate clear role boundaries. Middle management not able to engage in constructive conflict resolution resulting in a lack of collaboration. Shareholder value dogma (share price today) driving short term decisions.
