      Company continues to evolve

      Pros

      Upper mgmt knows what they're doing. They are focused on expanding the growth base for the company and they've done that through acquisitions of some pretty amazing technologies on the bio-genomics side of the business.

      Cons

      PerkinElmer's evolving away from their old-line analytical instrument division. Similar to over 20 years ago, it's a cash cow to feed the rest of the company's plan to grow through acquisition. That's not a bad strategy but, it does mean that traditional analytical instruments are last to the trough when it comes to R&D and potential additions via external acquisition.
