Pros

The people that do the actual work are great. Take the job if you need it - but keep looking for better.

Cons

Little or no promotion from within. Upper management need to have 360 reviews done. But then HR only does what upper management tells them so nothing will change. Getting top-heavy hiring VP's from outside the company who want to remake PerkinElmer like the last place they worked. If that worked so well, why aren't they still there? Internal people with vast knowledge and expertise are not listened too and eventually forced out. They end up working at competitors and are much happier. Technology platforms are out of date. Constant restructuring. Yearly layoffs, usually done right before Thanksgiving. No rhyme or reason as to who goes or who stays. Morale is a joke..

Pros

Decent folks below executive level

Cons

Loyalty rewarded with layoff over time regardless of work product. You truly are just a number tied to your salary. Make more and risk of getting let go increases. Insane culture when you think about it.

Pros

The field engineers and their management are great to work with. They're very collaborative and helpful, and are a wonderful asset to the company.

Cons

The company has no loyalty to it's employees. It will work people into the ground and take advantage of people who are willing to do whatever it takes to help the company succeed until they break and move on. Yet they have to do this, because even after numerous layoffs and restructurings, there are still way more people who do the bare minimum than there are people who work. Many employees are resistant to change. In the corporate offices, there is not a very collaborative atmosphere, and more often than not emails to people not on your direct team get ignored.
