      Great products, too many lifers, bad benefits

      Pros

      I am having the chance to work on a product that make a a difference and have a great manager. Very nice building with great on site gym. Company is very formal - but very professional. Excellent interview and hiring experience.

      Cons

      Horrible vacation/holiday benefits - 8 holidays, no floaters, 18 PTO but that encompasses sick days and hence the overall policy is not competitive. Company is fusion of acquisitions that never acts like a single company. There is always a spending freeze/ travel ban from October on. No bonuses and pay does not compensate for that. ESPP is 5% off, not 15%.

      No redeeming qualities exist for this company.

      Cons

      PerkinElmer is run by accountants and Wall Street. There is no vision other than to milk the product lines they have acquired and layoff the staff at the acquired companies. If you are at a company that was acquired, watch out.
