Great people. Terrible upper management

Pros

Great people. Cool office. Ok culture.

Cons

Incompetent upper management. Poor business priorities (mayor lay-offs then announce sponsor CROs personal friends sports team one month after. Terrible signal to send to the market). Informal routes of information and decisionmaking. Lack of transparency. Lenient on bullies and «bad seeds» damaging culture, productivity and motivation.

Pros

Flexible, autonomous workplace. Easy going management, nice perks, decent salary.

Cons

Disorganized leadership, heavy, demotivated feeling with recent layoffs. Many failed projects. Many senior positions have left recently.

"Family" means Norway or EU or former Tandberg.

Pros

Very good technology. Some nice people. Annual sales kick offs in Norway.

Cons

Anti-American sentiment is a very big part of their "family" identity. Salaries are low. Takes "work hard, play harder" to a new level. Known alcoholics encouraged/shamed into "playing hard" by peer pressure (not doing shots of Aquavit with the team at 4 am does not mean you're not a team player). Unrealistic expectation and consistently obvious sub-par results.
