Pros

-Very quiet area -Rural community feeling -Only about an hour from the edge of Charlotte without traffic -Good charter high school nearby if you have older children

Cons

The university really didn’t live up to how it advertised itself. They have incredibly hardworking and talented faculty and staff but there’s only so much you can do with chronically strained resources. I saw more than a few people reach complete and total burnout as they struggled to provide services and quality educational opportunities to students.

-A year ago I would have said "Lots of energy around new projects! Lots of momentum."

Cons

-Extremely poor university financial outlook - no job security -Culture of secrecy around finances - leaves people guessing about the long-term financial viability of the university. -Poor finances have led to an over reliance on adjuncts that have resulted in increasingly poor student experiences
