Typical big pharma, maybe worse

Pros

Working in the city. Decent compensation. Good opportunity to work in other functions

Cons

Lots of administrative nonsense, which misaligned incentives in a very bad way. Company is extremely oriented toward wall street performance and communication, which makes it very short-termist. Finally, some managers take gender parity as an outcome, I have seen managers pulling women (mostly) into roles just to make sure they get 50/50 parity; again driven by bad incentives.

Pros

The work was extremely meaningful - working with world-class colleagues to supply life-saving medicines for patients around the world. Along the way, great options for career growth and development to sustain a long, vibrant, and purposeful career.

Cons

I remained a Pfizer colleague for 22 years, so there really were no cons. Pfizer is a large corporation, which may be a 'con' for some .. for others, it means a breadth of career opportunities.
