Pros

Good pay and good benefits

Cons

Growth opportunities and promotions are completely dependent on your group and boss, which can be good or bad for you. It was bad for me. I watched other colleagues that possessed similar skills/experience/capabilities as myself get promoted, and in some cases, get promoted more than once, before I received a single promotion. I intend to leave the company soon to find my next step since Pfizer continues to move the target for what is needed to promote me. I've been on the promotion list for ~1.5 years now and have no indication that I will be promoted anytime soon.

Pros

Benefits are good. Colleagues were the most dedicated, hardest working people I have ever met. Big companies are organized and systematic in implementing continuous improvements and Pfizer was no exception (albeit a bit behind technologically, compared with similar companies).

Cons

Absolutely no work life balance. Several people in Quality had legit nervous breakdowns and had to be out on leave. There were no boundaries between work and personal life. Colleagues called on holidays, weekends, etc. and though they are careful to never say it aloud, the culture there is very clear that you are expected to prioritize Pfizer above everything and everyone else in your life.

Pros

Benefits are good and the caregiver and sick days helped compensate for no work life balance.

Cons

No work life balance for certain departments. In injectable filling, your opinion doesn't matter about the future scheduling taking away or weekend pay or anything that pertains to you. Higher ups act like they want to know what you think but whatever you say falls on deaf ears. There is a second shift supervisor who is the most by the book guy I have worked for. Everything is black and white in his mind, and he just wants to climb the ladder. He does not have your back and I did not get my exit interview because it would have been with him, not HR. Even if I did do my exit interview, I would not have been able to comfortably express my concerns or known if they would have moved upwards or just trashed. I also have a same sex partner and submitted Pfizer's paper work to have them put on my insurance to no avail after months of contacting and questioning about the application. They fly the rainbow flag in June but prepare to jump through hoops if you have a same sex partner and are trying to get them on your benefits. You'd do better to have a courthouse wedding than try to enroll them as your domestic partner.
