Pros

Flexible schedule, competitive with retail and other LTC as far as pay is concerned, office environment, low-key, pharmacy director/manager cares about the employees, open-door policy with director

Cons

Cross-training is not encouraged, scheduling is always wacky & last-minute, forever short-staffed, low moral, office administrator seems non-existent, H/R questions will never be answered

Pros

Stable #2 in the long term care market. Never dull since they do a lot of volume. Reasonable salary with medium level benefits.

Cons

Lazy co-workers due to constant work load and no incentive for advancement. Management shows very little concern about patient care but lots of focus about the bottom line. License is on the line.

Pros

Unfortunately, there is only one pro, flexibility! The computer system is archaic and not user friendly at all. The IV computer system is the worst program imaginable! Need to get with the times and improve on systems and learn how to get and keep business too.

Cons

After several years working at Pharmerica (Formerly Kindred and a much better company), I was laid off due to budget cuts! What I don't understand, is the loss of business and revenue has nothing to do with the staff and everything to do with the poor decision making and lack of knowledge on how to successfully run a pharmacy by corporate people! Yet, they get to keep their high paying jobs as business decreases and just dismiss the worker bees as if we don't matter. I was a loyal, hard working and excellent employee with a great track record. I guess I was being paid too much after my many years of service, so I was let go. What corporate doesn't understand, is with higher pay comes knowledge and experience. If you want to get a staff of inexperienced and lower paid people, than it will cost you more in the long run. How sad and unfair that I had to make the life change when I was not to blame. It's a slap in the face after all my years of hard work and dedication.
