Pros

Some high profile brand engagements

Cons

If the constant threat of losing your job, freezing your pay and daily vulgarity laced screaming is your thing then working for this company is your dream job. The ownership and management is comprised of arrogant tyrants who would rather lead by causing panic, fear and sheer chaos rather than foster a constructive culture of openness built upon mutual respect. It’s a leadership style that permeates through the entire company—creating a negative organizational sub-culture that institutes pessimism, emotional distress and poor self-esteem. Many company policies are made on the fly to deter independent decisions/thinking yet you’re left to largely figure out the inner workings without a hint of support. Beware of bait-and-switch tactics after you’ve been hired and consign any thoughts about having a life outside working hours, which mind you can be literally 24hrs/day. When you’re hired be prepared to become a slave of the company, which is worth no amount of money they may be willing to offer. Management consistently walks a fine line between legal and ethical rights, forget about moral rights, and if you’ve worked within this organization for a year, you’re considered a veteran as most don’t last nearly this long. As an aside, their contractual engagements with the companies they service typically last about the same time. It’s surprising companies would consider/continue working with Photon unless there is an existing relationship with someone in the head office. Employees are often berated in front of their peers using language generally reserved for sailors. Firings have occurred in the presence of colleagues much the same manner and are usually without plausible circumstance. The HR department writes bogus positive reviews to deceive would be candidates into thinking the company is one of the best you’ll ever work. They’ll tell you they’re a U.S. company but that couldn’t be further from the truth, as the core operation is maintained offshore. The reality is they are an offshore development company that services U.S. clientele. At this point it probably goes without saying, unless you are absolutely desperate for a job and love to feel inferior, I wouldn’t give this company a second thought. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, it’s not worth your livelihood. Consider yourself warned.

There none. The medical and dental and basic forget any dental work that cost over 1k. They take away holidays. Who does that?!

Cons

I was hired for on specific title. But the manager didn’t want to understand the difference. I went sent to a client a the title I have no idea about. I basically stumbled my around to get something off the ground.

Pros

If you are lucky, you may get to work on some really strategic and transformative programs - very fulfilling if you are looking for that. Pay can be off the charts if you were hired at a time when the position was urgent and there was no one else in the pipeline. But beware - this also means you will be the first one on the chopping block.

Cons

Everything about this organization is an issue. Starting with service agreements that are border-line illegal, an ignorant finance team that does incorrect tax deductions on a regular basis putting individual employees in jeopardy with IRS, a culture of public humiliation and an employee workforce that’s majority sub-par skills. People here work hard - not because they love to, but because estimates are always aggressive and everyone is hired into roles way beyond their capability. To survive, you learn to lie. And then the lies become a way of life - resulting in missed commitments both internally and to clients. All of this stems from just one place - the egotistical and whimsical values of the company’s owner (the CTO). He is deranged and believes he is “god” and owns his employees. He believes he has the highest ethics and sense of fairness. He believes he is the most empathetic human in the world - all of this is far from true. But unfortunately he genuinely believes he is the best - he toys around with people’s lives not out of malice, but because that’s all he knows to be right.
