Pros

Some high profile brand engagements

Cons

If the constant threat of losing your job, freezing your pay and daily vulgarity laced screaming is your thing then working for this company is your dream job. The ownership and management is comprised of arrogant tyrants who would rather lead by causing panic, fear and sheer chaos rather than foster a constructive culture of openness built upon mutual respect. It’s a leadership style that permeates through the entire company—creating a negative organizational sub-culture that institutes pessimism, emotional distress and poor self-esteem. Many company policies are made on the fly to deter independent decisions/thinking yet you’re left to largely figure out the inner workings without a hint of support. Beware of bait-and-switch tactics after you’ve been hired and consign any thoughts about having a life outside working hours, which mind you can be literally 24hrs/day. When you’re hired be prepared to become a slave of the company, which is worth no amount of money they may be willing to offer. Management consistently walks a fine line between legal and ethical rights, forget about moral rights, and if you’ve worked within this organization for a year, you’re considered a veteran as most don’t last nearly this long. As an aside, their contractual engagements with the companies they service typically last about the same time. It’s surprising companies would consider/continue working with Photon unless there is an existing relationship with someone in the head office. Employees are often berated in front of their peers using language generally reserved for sailors. Firings have occurred in the presence of colleagues much the same manner and are usually without plausible circumstance. The HR department writes bogus positive reviews to deceive would be candidates into thinking the company is one of the best you’ll ever work. They’ll tell you they’re a U.S. company but that couldn’t be further from the truth, as the core operation is maintained offshore. The reality is they are an offshore development company that services U.S. clientele. At this point it probably goes without saying, unless you are absolutely desperate for a job and love to feel inferior, I wouldn’t give this company a second thought. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, it’s not worth your livelihood. Consider yourself warned.
