Pros

I met some amazing and talented people. I was able to jump into projects that furthered my career growth. Solid benefits.

Cons

Pay was below average and did not keep up with extra responsibilities or job scope expansion, at least for me. Politics everywhere. Not sure how they decide to spend their money; 2 layoffs in 2 years but they continue to hire and have executives travel around the country. I had 4 managers in 2 years. They cut bonuses and capped raises. I saw some HR folks getting promotions mid year while the rest of the company has to wait for review season.

Thank you for sharing thoughts about your time at Pie Insurance. We're glad to hear you had positive experiences and were able to grow your career with us. We appreciate your feedback and want to clarify points you made regarding bonuses, raises and promotions. Ensuring fair compensation and transparent decision-making are top priorities for us. Every year, our People Team does an extensive market review to ensure our compensation remains competitive within the market. Bonuses are paid to those who are eligible every year based on board approvals, company performance and team member performance. In terms of promotions, throughout the year, we do off-cycle promotions which resulted in over 80 promotions across the organization in 2023.

Pros

Clients are always updating us through meetings. They're environment is non-toxic and they also make sure to uplift us when we're confused in processing an LOB. They also practices giving rewards points to those that are doing good with their job even if we are just in probationary period. I love that client's culture is pursuing work-life balance.

Cons

I can't think of any as of the moment.

Pros

Compensation, benefits, talented employees, paid time off

Cons

Over the past 9 months there have been a series of decisions made by upper levels of leadership throughout the company that have led to a strong shift in company performance and employee culture. Teams are over worked and short staffed which lead to downstream effects on other teams as well as the customer experience. There was no transparency from senior leadership to employees. A new senior level employee was brought in and they did a welcome tour touting "no sweeping changes will be made" reminiscent to the plot of Office Space. I also believe that decisions are made completely devoid of thought of their impacted employees and most importantly the customer. These decisions have led to another round of layoffs that will inevitably lead to more employees leaving due to being overworked and expected to pick up the slack for the employees they let go. And this cycle will continue before bigger heads roll. I hope they can eventually course correct to what the initial experience and vision was for so many employees only a year ago.
