Pros

Excellent subspecialists in many areas Nurses generally very good but (not enough of them) Facilities generally good

Cons

Management is focused on making money, not patient care and not employee satisfaction Nurses are not respected and are leaving the hospital for better work environments Decisions to buy cardiology practices (Piedmont Heart Institute) has resulted in wasteful care, less continuity of care, and in general, poorer care. IMS hospitalist service is of uneven quality and continuity of care is poor ER MDs are worse than ever No expertise on staff in quality assurance and no statistical expertise available on staff.
