Pros

Check clears every two weeks. Plenty of work to do. Hard to get fired. Cool products. Coworkers are often great people.

Cons

Management has no regard for the lives they endanger by cutting corners. HR is crippling operations. There is no way to move up or get skill or effort based raises. The only way(in general, unless you have family in management) to get a raise is through time. High paying jobs are awarded to unqualified"friends and family" while qualified candidates do not get interviews.

Pros

There are some people who spend their entire career here, which you don’t really see anymore in today’s workplace. The benefits (PTO, health care cost, 401K match) are not bad, and after time can get pretty good.

Cons

Technology, cohesiveness, progress, all things non-essential to Pierce. There are too many duplicated projects or systems to count. Two similar trucks designed at the same time by two different teams, that could have been one. Projects with delays, launched with problems even after the delays. Old technology and survives because new tech costs money. It all comes down to an unwillingness to invest money. There’s not enough money invested in personnel, which leaves the business short-staffed. This in turn leaves projects and development shorted, and leads to the launch delays, last minute redesigns, and lingering problems after launch. The best people get overworked, and the smart ones leave. Lastly, career pathing leaves a lot to be desired.
