Get to move around, and decent breaks.

Cons

Lazy supervisors. Favoritism 100%. If they don’t like you, have fun trying to communicate with your supervisors without getting talked about or intimidated by. Worse management I’ve ever had for a job. Only way they “communicate” is writing on the whiteboard for your chores at the end of the day or when there is a “higher-up” around and they put on a front. Lastly, supervisors like to lie on down time sheets to make sure their rate is tip-top which is stealing from the company just an FYI.

Good Environment, Average Pay

Pros

This is a fantastic retail environment to start out in if you are new to the work force. If you have had previous employment, this occupation can still be satisfying and a good experience- especially if you have a good team. If you can get to an assistant manager position, there is a LOT of opportunity to learn management and leadership duties.

Cons

Pay is rather low. Even assistant managers do not have decent pay. Unless you are a department manager I would not get good enough pay to live off of. I treat this job as a chance for experience that I will be able to apply in more lucrative jobs later on. Some departments are small, so getting to the top can really only happen if the manager quits or retires.

Pros

The people are great, the work isn't taxing. Schedules are pretty flexible, more so if you are part time.

Cons

Pay is on the low side, even for lower management. Additionally, as a company they have trust issues, they believe every employee is going to steal from them, so they do their best to ensure no one has power.
