Pros

Most Team Members are conscious employees, & hard workers. Management is flexible with most issues. Respectable place to work if you work well independently, and are self-motivated. There seem to be opportunities to move about the company into different positions, if you find your current position is not a fit. Regularly promotes from within the company. Great fit for "young" Career Hunter with time. Good Benefits plan, and vacation plan. In- House Company members push for improvement to benefit Team Building.

Cons

Career wise, not sure about Pilgrim’s. The pay rate never supports the work load. Most of Pilgrims job descriptions lack an accurate account of the work load that will be required to effectively perform the job duties, from hourly labor to Managers. I have found that this company is very smart in putting people into placement with a higher skill set than required; eager to train the staff, utilizing the entire skill set with no compensation adjustments. Trend of the times, hire with the simple Job description, low wage, & before you know it you are preforming at a management level under an entry level wage. “STUCK” Doesn't appear to be a Corporate's priority to fairly compensate dedicated employees . Corporate hold not in house.

Pros

The people in the plant were excellent to work with, very dedicated group.

Cons

Corporate staff is too distant in relationship to the plant. Decisions made at corporate and plants are then left to their own devices to implement the bad ideas. Ultimately plants held responsible for the failure of the project. Cost cutting measures did not address vital source of waste in day to day operations. No pay raise for last five years. KPI goals and evaluation system is a joke. They expect a lot for the compensation they provide to mid-management staff.
