Pros

Franchised business, letting the owners have more say in what they want to do with the store instead of having a whip to your back when it comes to day to day.

Cons

Its about as good as any other retail position

Pros

None to speak of! Potential is there but the vision is lost by the weak owners. Pool leadership takes away of all the Pros!

Cons

Poor leadership and management. Owner will make everything sound great at first but then will treat you very bad after they suck you in the toxic environment. There is no potential for growth or development. Owners will throw you under the bus every chance they get! They do not have your back! They will cut corners when they get the chance. Owners talk down to you and are the most arrogant you will ever see.

Pros

The work can sometimes be rewarding, often dealt with solving people's pool problems and if you deliver they will be a loyal customer to you specifically. Each store has a smaller staff so you can get to know your co-workers quickly. Stores are individually owned so our owner was very personable and made it a point to go above and beyond in taking care of us and getting to know us. If you have a good store owner like ours it can be the best part of the job, I learned a lot from our owner about business opportunities, life, sports, etc. It's a good job through college for those who don't mind working.

Cons

If you're good at your job you will likely be required to work Fri-Sun (did this for about 2 years). October - February is slow season so hours can get cut significantly. It can also get excruciatingly boring and our shifts were for 9 hours so time can drag like no other.
