Pros

They pay salaries on time.

Cons

Firstly, their HR is rude. When I tried to negotiate benefits, the HR lady alleged I was lying and then was pressured into closing the deal. Secondly, HR didn't even tell me when I would start and it was their client that told me my starting date. Apparently, HR was on holiday and forgot to inform and onboard me. Lastly, Pinkerton like to say that they take care of their employees, but once you're onboarded, you're at the mercy of the client and they'll only reach out to you when they have to do their yearly check-ins. For a company that prides itself on being America's oldest investigative service, this organization is shockingly disorganized and frankly is a joke.

Pros

Fairly straight forward hiring process.

Cons

The company is below industry standards and doesn’t offer best practice (some may argue the bare minimum) benefits to its employees. There is no support to pursue any sort of learning or development and despite boasting that they care about diversity, equity and inclusion and supporting women and parents in security, the company does not offer paid parental leave or any parental or family benefits. Promotion opportunities are limited.

Pros

Fostered great relationships with my coworkers. Pay was high.

Cons

Pinkerton jumped at the opportunity to throw an employee under the bus if it meant keeping a client happy, regardless of how unreasonable or abusively clients treated us. Much of the Pinkerton leadership had little to no experience in managing large teams, working in the industry we were assigned, or even the basics of local HR law. Retaliation was rampant, and legal action was taken on at least one occasion by a former employee.
