Pros

PJC is a good place to build a career in investment banking with a lean deal team and direct access to senior bankers and management teams with lots of responsibility.

Cons

Deal teams can run lean which makes it difficult sometimes to stay on top of all the work and projects to put forth good results. However, the teamwork in the group is strong.

Good pay, fair medical and great people to work with.at Piper Jaffray is a growing firm with many different departments to work in.

Cons

The management can't seem to make up their minds. They start a program knowing it will take time to build it up to start earning a profit. After three months they pull the plug and say it is not working. One manager says one thing and another manager says something else.

Great place to learn about investment banking industry. Mid western culture is a better deal than New York style banking. Cautious about picking a group. Overall a very positive experience.

Cons

Typical cons, such as long hours, tight deadlines, demanding bosses and clients. Perhaps, the firm needs to provide more help placing junior people in post-banking positions.
