Pros

Employees are dedicated to designing and promoting play and recreational products for children, families, and individuals. individuals. Collaborate across departments and locations has improved in the past few years.

Cons

#1 - Pay is not competitive in our industry. Wage increases are few and far between. Highest performing employees are not organically recognized with promotions. #2 - Most people in various departments across multiple locations would agree that office staff is shockingly sparse. Each employee has the responsibilities of what should be numerous positions. This has led to burnout, low morale, and turnover.

Pros

Great industry and many dedicated/talented employees who are committed to parks and playgrounds

Cons

Unrealistic expectations and senior management has history of poor management decisions. No formal KPI’s during my tenure, no merit increases or formal review process, micromanagement

Fun product, dedicated people, but massively understaffed.

Pros

- People are passionate about providing the best products and experiences. - It's common for PlayPower to promote from within, even from one department to another. - Improved senior leadership in the last few years, from a business standpoint, but tends to make decisions isolated from the common worker.

Cons

- There can be years between pay raises. - Severe understaffing in most departments leads to few people doing most of the work. - Low starting offers for new employees that are not competitive for the industry or the area. - Continual lowering of the budget and department resources with the strict expectation of greater output. - There's no centralized corporate culture which leads to an us vs them mentality amongst the different brands and locations.
