Pros

The company actually cares...if something is going on in your life, they are more than happy to work with you and help you...Not to mention you will not find better benefits from another company. The environment is very relaxed and welcoming. Working for a large company provides a lot of perks - better pay, better benefits - but then you also have small project teams so the company feels small and intimate at the same time. It’s honestly the best of both worlds.

Cons

Can be “office politics” but where doesn’t that exist? Large projects mean long project timelines. Sometimes I get tired of the same project day after day, but the nice thing about being an interior designer is one day you’ll be doing construction documents, and then the next day you might be “shopping” for furniture for the FFE package.

Pros

I usually describe my time at POPULOUS as the best company I have ever worked for. Perhaps I was lucky to fall into a great team and have the best boss ever, but what I liked most is that it certainly gave me the opportunity to discover and develop new skills I hadn't thought about before and which changed my career path and interests. Internally, the company operates on the informal side, which makes it feel like a small family, kind of rare in global companies with several offices worldwide. If you're interested in providing new ideas and work in new areas such as business development and marketing, it is usually welcomed by the company even if it’s not your official skill-set. They recognized my strengths and gave me the opportunity to manage projects for the first time; I didn't disappoint and felt valued for the hard work I put in. Not to mention that all the way I had the fantastic & inspiring guidance and support of one of the partners - an intelligent and intuitive leader who helped his team develop their best skills and talent. I also had the opportunity to work with the HQ leadership team, which was always kind and welcoming and also provided me all the guidance I needed to perform well and always valued my work. Populous also hires great designers, and I was impressed by the projects quality. All in all, I miss my time there - interesting projects, great company and empathetic people to work with.

Cons

As mentioned in another review, the individual offices worldwide might be a little territorial regarding projects.
