Great coworkers, poor comp & work balance

Pros

- Good people to work with and encouraged to get to know outside of work - Time made focus on diversity/inclusion

Cons

- Compensation is extremely low compared to other companies especially for the workload - when people are out, there is not enough people to cover, so you will get asked to do double work for no extra pay. Sick leave, maternity leave, people quitting, and the like. Regularly doing more than just what should be yours to do. - many people who held up the teams have left for better opportunities, and there has been so much turnover, that a large amount of the company is new. This would be fine if the learning curve wasn't so large creating bigger problems for the people already overworked. - no growth opportunities from your current role

Pros

My coworkers are some of the greatest people I have ever met. The overall company culture is great, we do have unique perks and benefits but don't let those fool you, your will be paid significantly LOWER than other companies. Yes, its a fun great wonderful environment but at the end of the day, fun doesn't pay the bills, money does. I would gladly give up some of those unique perks to receive $5-7 more per hour in terms of pay rate.

Cons

The company is very much a stepping stone company aimed at new college grads and/or spouses who still want to be able to work and have the flexibility to take care of kids while their spouse is the main breadwinner. The compensation structure is super narrow about $5k salary range per position which makes it extremely hard to stand any chance of seeking an increase to be paid what you deserve based on workload and the projects you produce. In order to receive a sizable pay increase you must be promoted to the next level, there is no room to grow in your position. If you become a rockstar at your role, you cannot stay in that role and have your salary increase due to tenure/excellent performance. There is no room to grow financially as our pay bands are EXTREMELY narrow. If you are looking to make a max of $45k per year nothing more, this is the spot for you.

Pros

Free coffee, Work from home......

Cons

Everyone seemed nice and great at first! after a month everyone started to show how they really felt. If you do not go out with them they will OUT you out the club. It was like high school all over! its a department full of kids that talk about each other. The new pss manager is terrible at keeping her emotions on lock, She stays upset for no reason. If she did not like you .....she makes it known, She bad at managing her attitude, stress and facial expressions that look awkward! They preach about not gossiping and what not ;but that is far from the truth! OH! you think i'm done?? oh no!!! they are the most hypocritical people EVER They say ask away with questions and always ask "QUESTIONS"!!! yet when i was sitting down for my performance improvement plan she stated you should not be asking questions by "now " ???.....and if you do not fit in with the "rest" and by the "rest" i mean being obnoxious, talking about workouts ect.. FYI the jokes they make are really corny or just not funny, so prepare to fake laugh your way through some pretty awful jokes. I felt pressured to go learn and be as quick as them. while they stated to me several times that if i needed a bit more time to understand the material to just let them know and we could take the time we needed.... ok that went out the window withing 3 weeks. Its unfortunate that i had to leave this company, it has potential... I now understand why the tun over rate is so high with this company or at least the Payroll department that is. Stay clear of this place! its full of drama and the energy is so fake! do not fall for it!! once you get the PIP you better start looking because the next move is out the door. And the performance improvement plan is just for their own selves. My manager also seemed very pleased to be giving me this information the PIP information, i felt disgusted by how she handled that PIP i no longer wanted to associated with a company who no longer wanted me there. It honesty is a game of how long a person will last there...
