      Pros

      Populus Group: Not just a job, but rather a company who invests in each individual's strengths, interests, and goals to build a career. At it's core, everyone should have a chance to succeed, and Populus Group takes the time to understand what success means to each employee and how they can help lead you to success. The company is always appreciative to both positive and negative feedback to help shape and build it's culture and employees.

      Pros

      All of the full-time Populus employees I met in person were very nice. They left me alone to do my work and did not continuously ask me to try and place more people on my team. There is tuition available if you want to take a 1-2 class.

      Cons

      While the people were nice, they were not transparent and unable to answer my "tough" questions about benefits I had selected upon hire. The medical benefits changed during my contract and left me with even worse options than the original. An optional scheduled monthly or quarteryly check-in with a benefits advisor would be nice. In my first year nearly all of my internal contacts left the company. Very little encouragement for training, what was offered was nice "how to be a good employee" stuff, but I never found anything to enhance my marketability or prepare me for a next contract.

      Contractors are not treated as people

      Pros

      Relative to other staffing agencies, PG takes a very low cut of the billing rate to client.

      Cons

      Populus Group says they are "People first." Unfortunately, contractors do not count as people. Every contractor interaction with PG is as a case number in a ticketing system.
