Pros

Depending on your area (mine was IT), work is challenging and rewarding, with good benefits and decent co-workers.

Cons

As a company subject to lots of both state and federal regulation, PGE often makes business decisions for political reasons. This sometimes overflows into an overly politically-correct culture. Low producers, especially those involved in "PC" activities, are frequently favored beyond their real contribution to the business. Employees are reviewed yearly (a good thing), but the process is too-often based on overly subjective criteria.

Very diverse group to work with, few team members are exceptionally skilled and experienced

Cons

Too many changes are being rolled out. Same old trainings with new brand names makes it look like cosmetic surgery. It feels like the team has no clue how to run their department and hire more consultants than they need - each with a different opinion on how to run HR. Contractors are treated very poorly here.
