Pros

The pay is very competitive. The bonuses for managers is hard to find else in industry. The 401(k) is 10% match, pretty sweet.

Cons

The company culture has changed for the worse. Overtime is expected for some jobs without overtime pay. There is extreme siloing between departments. Managers do not share the same goals, which makes it hard to get your own projects completed. Engineering managers are not required to have any technical background.

Pros

PGE seems to try to do the right thing for their customers and the environment.

Cons

PGE used to be a great company to work for, but in the last 3 to 5 years there is been a culture change that is making this an undesirable job now. They are trimming the technical and labor personnel and adding so many layers of inexperienced managers that is making this a bad job.

Pros

Fair pay and good benefits.

Cons

The culture is terrible. The company loves to say there is room for advancement but if you start as a lower-level employee that's all you'll ever be seen as, even as you move up. Old white men/good ol' boys still rule the culture (and are managers) in most departments.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. It’s disappointing to hear, as this is not the experience we’re striving to create. We are committed to a diverse workforce, and in the past year, half of our new hires identify as BIPOC and nearly half identify as women. We’ve also launched development programs for women and BIPOC employees to diversify our leadership and provide additional opportunities for underrepresented employees.
