Pros

Work from home most days.

Cons

I had other job offers and I feel like I got suckered choosing this one. Should have held out for the starting salary and PTO I wanted instead of allowing myself to be persuaded with HR promises about innovation and collaboration. Three months in to my new "wfh" job and they want everyone to return to the office one day a week. The technological tools we use are criminally outdated and inefficient. Workflows are cumbersome and constantly made more so with extra tasks being piled on every couple of months. No team spirit--I can't remember the last time anyone asked how I am doing. To add insult to injury, it turns out negative responses to the employee engagement survey affect your bonus, and the garbage health plan has never paid a cent of my medical bills--might as well not have one. Oh, and a 3.5% merit increase? Unbelievable. At my last job this was the COLA that everyone got. And turns out there is a hiring freeze so all those future opportunities they dangled in my face just evaporated.

We appreciate your candid feedback and the time you took to share your experience with us, and we take your concerns seriously. We strive to create a positive and supportive work environment for all our employees, and your feedback helps us identify areas where we can improve. Innovation and collaboration are, indeed, highly valued at PGE. That desire to nurture those qualities – as well as the connection between employees — is why flexible work expectations at PGE were updated in July 2023 so employees were asked to be onsite, with their teams, one day a week. The energy industry is evolving quickly and, with our commitment to delivering clean, reliable energy to our fellow Oregonians, the pace at PGE is rapid. Continuous improvement is a priority, and we are moving quickly to update the tools we use for everything from creating purchase orders to managing payroll. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continuously strive to enhance our company culture and work experience. We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your concerns and any specific suggestions you might have. If you're open to it, we encourage you to reach out to our HR department directly at 503-464-7250 so we can have a more in-depth conversation. Thank you, Sequoia
