Pros

I recently joined PGE and have been genuinely impressed by the onboarding process and my first few months with the company. From day one, everything felt intentional, thoughtful, and well-structured. The onboarding experience was seamless, clear communications, organized training, and helpful resources at every step. I never felt lost or unsure about where to go or who to ask; instead, I felt welcomed and supported. One of the standout aspects of PGE so far has been the people. I work on the Communications, Marketing & Customer Experience team, and the leadership and colleagues here have been nothing short of exceptional. They are kind, collaborative, and truly committed to helping new employees succeed. I’ve had the chance to work closely with leaders who respect your contributions, encourage growth, and genuinely value different perspectives. It’s refreshing to be part of a team where everyone wants to lift each other up. My role as an Office Administrator/Executive Assistant has been both rewarding and energizing. I’ve been trusted with meaningful work, supporting executive communications, coordinating projects, keeping processes running smoothly, and contributing to work that impacts the entire company. I appreciate that PGE gives you space to build relationships, learn, and refine your skills while still feeling the right level of challenge. Culturally, PGE has exceeded my expectations. The company genuinely prioritizes wellbeing, inclusion, and accountability. There’s an emphasis on kindness, respect, and showing up for one another, something that’s not just talked about but demonstrated daily. The hybrid environment also strikes the perfect balance between connection and flexibility. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my onboarding and early experience at PGE. It’s a place where you feel supported, trusted, and welcomed from day one. I’m excited to continue growing here and to be part of work that is shaping Oregon’s clean-energy future. Would I recommend PGE as an employer? Absolutely—100% yes.

Cons

Lots of systems and tools to learn at first: Onboarding is smooth, but with a company of this size, there are many platforms, workflows, and policies. It can feel like a lot in the first few months, though everyone is helpful and patient while you’re learning. Meeting-heavy environment at times: Collaboration is a major strength at PGE, but it can mean a full meeting calendar. The positive side is that people are genuinely engaged and trying to stay aligned. Hybrid schedules can be tricky to coordinate early on: The flexibility is great, but in the beginning it takes a little time to learn who is in-office when and how each team prefers to connect.
