Pros

Decent pay & plenty of overtime available

Cons

Forced overtime and too much thrown at individual routes to make it nearly impossible to complete in time.

Pros

19/hour is better than most places

Cons

after two months since i had accepted the job offer, they finally called me and gave me less than a week’s notice for the orientation. i called out of work for the first day and was informed that we also had to come back the next day. during every step of the application to accepting the position i was receiving emails saying not to put in my two weeks yet and they would tell me when to, but on the second day of orientation they told me i’d be starting the next day. i’ve been told for two months now that they were “desperately” in need of help, yet on my first day the post master informed me i would be getting “one maybe two days a week” and they were not even full 8 hour shifts. i did apply knowing it was part time, but being told repeatedly that they needed help had me assuming i would be getting 20 hours at the very least. never in the entire process did they mention how little hours i would be getting. i tried talking to someone about my other job, saying i wasn’t going to quit if i wasn’t going to get more than one day a week here, and i was told that this job should be my priority and i have to work around them. while i realize $19 an hour is better than most places, and was originally why i was excited to get the job, it is not reflective of the amount of work you’re asked of. overwhelming what they expect of you and how fast they expect you to learn it.
